My parents were on Vacation in Corolla last week. I told them my only request was for them to bring me some cinnamon burst bagels! And they brought my fiance and I one. Although, I may just give in and eat his. (hehe) Nice to have a yummy piece of my favorite place on earth.

It keeps changing hands and changing names. I can't recall all the names it has had in the past 5-8 years but there would be 3 or 4 I think. The bagels looked good - huge. I got a Rueban sandwich , the first in over a year there, and was really disappointed. The last couple owners had loads of meat and a pickle along with the chips. Skimpy meat and no pickle - same price.

Really? I know they were called Lighthouse Bagels the first time we bought bagels from there in 2006. Their website says they have been family owned since 2001.

Tim I think you are mistaken, Lighthouse bagels has been owned by the same NJ couple that started it 10+ years ago.
You might be thinking about Bacchus 's, but even that has been owned by the same people for at least 6-7 years

I know the place, been there a bunch of times. Maybe the name changes I am thinking of are not official ones. When I go in and things have changed maybe I assume its changed again. I'll dig through the menus at the office tomorrow and see if I can find the names.
Here we go:
BAGELS & BEEF
Bonnies Bagels
There are two and the google search lists both at the same address 5549 North Croatan.
Are they not the same place?

Tim - They are all talking about the Lighthouse Bagels in Corolla which has always been owned by the Dietrich family. The did open one in Southern Shores that they sold to Tommy's which was sold again to Bonnie but the one in Corolla is still the original owners.
Try there donuts.. Amazing!!!

I was at Lighthouse Today. Same owners as always. I was also there on Saturday and the donuts are very good. Lots of folks like Duck Donuts but they should go
to Lighthouse to try some real donuts

I was thinking the OP meant the bagel shop in Corolla, never been to the other location. We loved the bagels and the donuts, didn't try the sandwiches. Our rental was in the free dozen bagels program, and we went back two more times during our trip for more...
A reuben is one of my favorite sandwiches, but I am usually leery of where I get them, really a hit or miss sandwich.. Just sayin

I ventured up to Lighthouse Bagels on Sunday for salt bagels. I was amazed at the size of their croissants and then saw this.... I'll stick with the salt bagels!

Yeah, I saw those and passed them up...I know bacon is the new 'thing' in all kinds of sweet stuff but it grosses me out.

Thanks Matt, I knew they sold and resold many times over the years. I have never been to the one in Corolla, heck, I rarely go to Corolla. I did close on a house there last week
